The Group is open to all interested residents of South Wingfield, Derbyshire.
Honorary membership is open to non-residents with the agreement of the Group. Fees are set at present at £10.00 p.a.
Information and comments from former residents are particularly welcome.
The South Wingfield Local History Group
No fewer than 3 and not more than 8 persons (chosen from amongst Group members) shall be charged with:
Ensuring that the Group acts in accordance with its aims.
Managing any finances acquired to enable the Group to carry out its aims.
One individual shall be appointed Treasurer and shall be responsible for holding any funds and ensuring that financial management shall be carried out according to the standards of the day for organisations of similar size and complexity.
The Aims of the group are:
To gather information and carry out research on all aspects of the Parish of South Wingfield.
To acquire records and information relevant to the study of South Wingfield and arrange for its appropriate storage and collation.
To make available historical data to residents and other interested parties.
To promote community interest in our local heritage by means of lectures, exhibitions, website and any other appropriate means.
To publish research findings.
